826LA is dedicated to unlocking and cultivating the creative power of writing for students ages 6 to 18, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.
826LA provides students with the individualized support they need to discover their voices through writing.
Volunteers serve as tutors, mentors, and role models for students; lead writing workshops; support publishing projects; illustrate student-written books; guide students through the storytelling process, and more!
Over 6,000 students receive the benefit of 826LA’s free programs each year, but it’s only possible with your generous support. A tax-deductible donation of any amount helps keep our programs accessible to the students who need them most.
